Dobbies Donate Flowers

A huge thank you goes out to Dobbies Garden Centres who kindly donated over £200 worth of bedding plants, hanging baskets and tubs.

Several of our volunteers have been busy getting the plants established and there is now a lovely display of colour brightening up the Centre.

Get £10 off Annual Membership

With the 2013 season due to start on Saturday 20th April, we are looking for additional volunteers to help make this year the best ever. As an incentive we are offering £10 off an annual membership for every volunteer who completes at least 5 shifts.

As a working partnership between the community and Sport Aberdeen, Albury Sports Centre is reliant on volunteers to remain open. The Centre provides affordable tennis, bowling and putting to the general public in the heart of the city and is a much-loved facility for all ages and all abilities.

If you have a couple of hours to spare every week and would like to help keep this well used public facility open then please do get in touch. No experience is needed and it’s great fun. Shifts last for 2 hours and parents are very welcome to bring their children along with them. Duties include opening and closing the Centre, setting out and taking in equipment and staffing the admission booth.

So, whether you enjoy meeting people, want to add some volunteering experience to your CV or simply want some peace and quiet to catch up with your reading, get in touch!

Click on the Volunteer Spot icon to register your interest or email volunteers@alburysportscentre.org. Alternatively call the Centre on 01224 571683 and leave a message with your contact details.

ALBURY TO BE COMPETING IN THE NORTH EAST LEAGUE AND YOU CAN BE A PART OF IT!

We are really pleased to let you know the exciting news that Albury will be competing in the local North East league this year.  We will be entering both a ladies and a men’s team.  Both teams will be made up of 4 players and each match will involve 2 doubles matches per doubles pairing.  The teams will start in the bottom divisions so don’t worry the standard won’t be too frightening, and it’s all very social which is evident in the match tea which follows at the end of the night. These matches will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm with each team playing one match per week.
At this stage we would like to find out who is interested in becoming part of the pool of team players by replying to the Albury email enquiries@alburysportscentre.org or by contacting me.  Ideally we would like a pool of players for each team so as many people can be involved as possible. Players wishing to be part of the team will need to be members of Albury.  This year’s annual rates are £85 for a family, £55 for Adult and £25 for Junior/Concession and can be bought online at www.alburysportscentre.org
Hilary Cromar has kindly offered to lead and coordinate the ladies team.We do still need a volunteer for the men’s team so come on guys let me know if you can do this and be the first ever Albury men’s team captain for the league.  This is a pretty straightforward job which involves arranging the team and being a contact for other clubs to call if a match is called off due to weather for example.  If you are interested in helping out with the men’s team please reply to this email.
